Taurus won't start in rain

Every time it rains something is getting wet and preventing my 97 Taurus 3.0 V6 from starting. When it dries off it starts back up.
It won't even turn over or make a clicking sound. It's just plain dead right now.
What exactly is getting wet? What would keep the car from starting while wet and allow it to run when dry?
Is it something to do with the ignition system being wet? Most of the components are dry

What do the lights on the instrument cluster, or the interior lights do when you try to start the car after a rain? Do they go completely out or dim severely, or stay on with normal intensity?
Maybe you have a loose battery cable or bad ground somewhere.

My father had the same problem with his 89' taurus and it turned out that he just needed a set of new spark plug wires, but idk just thought i'd say that. Good luck
