My "Check Engine Light " on my 98 Explorer has come on. Should I wait to see if will go off in time or should I have it checked by my local garage? I know it may have to do with emissions but is ther something I could check?
Thanks,
Jim

You will need to have the codes read to see why the light came on.

Mine on the 97 came on last week and all it needed was the gas filler cap rubber seal to be turned over and reseal. Then I disconnected the battery and poof code was gonner !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go to Autozone or Advance and have the trouble codes pulled so we have something to work with! A CHECK ENGINE light can be caused by too many things to try to guess why its on, and they will pull the codes for FREE!
