Hi yall. There is nothing like having an entire Sunday for some good weather riding, and yesterday was about the best day I've had on my CBR. Feel free to post any of your experiences!
It was a beautiful day yesterday. Mid 80s without a cloud in the sky. As soon as I woke up, I could hear my best friends SV1000 roaring up to my driveway. We both knew what was up today :naughty: . We started off heading north from my house on some of the best roads you could image to ride your sportsbike on. Twists and turns of all grades, connected in the middle by a nice little straight. Everytime I ride down this road, I get goosebumps crawling from every inch of my body. As usual, hes a faster rider than I due to his extra 15kmi experience, so I had a hell of a time trying to stay up with him (aka...I can't). Our blood was infected with adrenaline going through the most precision carved and picture painted roads imaginable. We desperately needed to calm down our itchy right hands.
We spent the next hour cruising down some good ol country roads, and then proceeded for a much needed pitstop for some petrol. Filled up, and stretched out until I could again feel my at-the-moment numb ass  . Then back on the road again.
We then decided to take the interstate for some nice high speed driving :evillol: , and from here on, things get crazy. As we were cruising around 80, I looked to my left as a full size truck was slowly creeping past me. Much to my suprise, a little furter look back, and this guy was hauling a full size camper as hes passing me at 80+! A few minutes later, a Grand Prix GTP flies past us as a much higher rate accompanied by another car following. You know, I'm not sure about what you all think, but I was begining to feel slow after a truck towing a camper, and two cars that were blazing down the road are passing us left and right. Now I can't just let that happen. So I decided to speed it up a notch and speed up to about 95 which was about how fast the cars that past me were going.
Much to my suprise after a few minutes of riding with these cars, they begin to go even faster! I decided I had enough and I let my right hand do all the thinking past that. I pass them at a happy 125+ and decide that at about 135 I should probably start slowing down. I pull in the right lane and let the engine slow me down. Then my friend flies by my in his SV just a cooking! I figured, what the hell, and took off with him. We were rolling at around 115 for a while and then went off on our exit. We then met up with my friend on his modified 01 gsxr 750, and had a hell of a hayday until the sun started fading.
Maybe this is just cause Im recently new to bikes, but damn that was the most fun I had. Does anybody else have any experiences like this? On any given day, I usually don't even see 75. I'm actually a pretty well mannered rider (except when riding through twisties).
