Camshaft Sensor

I have a error code that tells me that the Camshaft sensor voltage is low. The dealer has one but its 169$. My 99 amigo 5 spd runs great. New plugs and wires. But the engine light bothers me. Do I need to get the sensor replaced soon or just leave it alone. And how can I turn the CEL off for good. I really dont need it do I? Also my fuel gauge is going berserk, it lights up and fluctuates I have to go by milleage when I put gas in it.
