I am looking into purchasing a 2001 ws6 T/A. I want an exhaust that will deffinetly turn heads with a beefy tone and screams 'american muscle'.
Question: what is the LOUDEST and throat-iest exhaust combo on the market right now.
by exhaust combo i mean headers, cat, and catback.
if not a combo, then what catback is the loudest/throatiest?
thanks

Well, I'm thinking that if you don't care about your own hearing, straight dump off the headers.
I don't own a V8 F-body, so myabe Luos or somebody will have the right answer. If not, search the thread as there's probably plenty of info regarding the combo you want.

The LS1 will never sound how you want it to. The aluminum design gives off a completely different sound.
You can make it sound good though.
Headers....I recommend Kooks/QTP if you have the money. Otherwise Pacesetters.
Ditch the cats if you can. But only if you don't have to deal with emissions.
Cutouts at each header might work for what you want.
Catback....screw it. Go with true duals dumped. Again, you would need to be emissions lucky.
Like this???

That is open headers (cutouts would work the same) and a fairly aggressive cam. Sounded good, but damn was it annoying.
Also, check out www.ls1sounds.com for examples.

They were 1 3/4" SLP headers at the time. Sold those to upgrade to 1 7/8" Kooks for my new motor.

That wasn't legal the way it was in that clip.
Honestly, while it sounded good, it was annoying as hell. I believe headers and a good set of duals sound the best. Might be different for the TPI though.
