clicking when turning 1986 w/ 120k

1986 olds 88 w/ 120k, vin B

I've been working on getting this car running for the past month or so and now it runs great, but when i make a sharp turn, i hear clicking from the front left tire area. What should i look into for problems? I know little about the undercarriage of these h-body cars since i haven't had many problems w/ them so far...

I wont be able to work on it untill saturday, but i figured i might as well start pricing parts if i need to.

I agree. Check the boot on your CV joints for tears.

Is there anyway to repair the boot? I assume that I would have to regrease it.

Also, if i hear clicking then does that mean that my CV joints are bad?

One more thing, would it be OK to run the car temporarily untill I can get the parts (and money) to fix it? Or would i risk completely destroying something I wouldn't want to?

If there is still grease in the boot , it will not run dry which is what kills them. However I would not suggest ignoring it for long,as it's only going to get worse. You can replace the boot and grease if you have the time and patience, but it tends to be a tedious job, which is why most people just replace the whole shaft. If you decide to do the boot replacement, do not buy a speedi-boot as they often leak grease out. They are more for quick fixes until the job can be done right. Also remember it's smart to have the alignment done after the install as the front end will have to be moved around to fit the shaft.
