window gets stuck in down position

I have regular manual window cranks and the drivers window has been getting stuck when I roll it all the way down. It looks like there is a cable type assembly attached to the crank. Is this all replaced as one assembly, or 2 seperate parts ? The way the mechanism seems to work, either the gear in the crank or the threads in the cable has a spot that is stripped. I want to order the parts, just looking to make sure I get what I need.
