3 Beeps

I recently bought a '97 convertible 328i. I have yet to receive the owners manual to research my question further.
In this first week od driving I have heard 3 or 4 times a series of 3 short beeps while I'm driving. I do not notice any lights or warning signs and I haven't been able to find a pattern to when I hear it.
What is the purpouse of these beeps?????

It sounds like the memo function on the OBC. It beeps at @15 seconds to the hour, just to remind you of the time. It can be turned off again at the press of the button.
