Hi Guys,
I'm looking to get a Chevelles..woohoo!!! ANyhow, what is the difference between an SS and a non SS? I found a 1970 Chevelle but it's going for like 13,900. Im sure I can talk the guy down, but its a non SS. Is it worth getting? I really want a chevelle and hopefully drop in a 454 motor in it and convert it to disc brakes. Those are my plans for this chevelle I really want. This car is clean..no rust at all, real California car! Any inputs would be helpful.
Thanks

dubs,
welcome to AF.
now about the NON-SS for 14K?
without pics this would be difficult for anyone to quote whether you a being took.
is it ALL original? and fully restored? if so, you don't want it, as you just said, you want to do a disc conversion, and swap engines, so that one is not for you; at the price, and if it is all stock, leave it to a collector.
find yourself another, good runner, or a good body, minus an engine, since this is what you want. you might find a body for $500., then you can buy a crate motor for $5,000, and you have a racecar.
another three to five thousand in remod's, and a GREAT paint job; then you have a show and go car.
hope this helps,
chris

Hey ctesla, Thanks for the welcoming!
ANyhow, you seem to be a guy who knows a lot about chevelles, I was just reading one of your post about the different types of motors. ANyhow, your right, I will need to put up pictures so people can give me an advice if the price is right for the chevelle i was looking at. But ya, I do want a 70 chevelle the one I want is stock with a 350 motor in it. The reason why I want that one is because I know its a good car. Its a california car with no rust. I know I will end up spending more later on but at least i got the straight body. And thats my problem is looking for a straight body chevelle (maybe you can help me out) :uhoh:
Anyhow, do you have a chevelle of your own? If possible please tell me about it. Thanks again ok!
