Cruise Control not working properly

what would cause the cruise control on a 92 not to disengage upon applying the brakes? Also I notice that when the "set" button on the end of the turn signal / wiper / cruse control will only "set" at a specified speed and will no longer adjust the speed down when pressed.
The only way to disengage the CC is to turn it off by the switch.
It is sort of a freaky feeling when you are traveling at 75 mph expecting the CC to disengage by tapping the brake pedal and it doesn't . Just glad it turned off manually by switch. Not sure what would have happened if that had failed too.

PMwhat would cause the cruise control on a 92 not to disengage upon applying the brakes? There are two switches under the brake peddle. One for the brake lights, one to disengauge the cruisen for a bruisen control. Make sure that switch still works and there are no broken wires..§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§REFUSE . . TO . . Today I finally got to the dealer to have the CC serviced.
The Tech. found a vacuum hose under the dash that was kinked causing the brake pedal to not disengage the CC. He "thought" he had it fixed until he & I went for a test drive and he got a surprize of his own. The CC did disengage when the brake pedal was pressed, however when he let off of the pedal the CC kicked in again except this time at full throttle. After he did some more diagnostics on the system he found that the set button was malfunctioning too.
The dealer has the turn signal /wiper/ cc - lever and switches ordered & hopefull this will solve the problem.
