Hey guys. What would be the normal battery voltage for our cars? I ask this because I looked on my Apexi turbo timer, and it was in the battery voltage mode, and it was like 12.6, then it started to flash when it hit 12.5 and lower.
Thanks
Thanks

normal voltage should be about 14.4 or so... with car running...

So do you think that since I'm getting such a lower voltage, it would suggest that my battery is going out?

Just a question.
How would you get 14.4 volts off of a 12 volt battery?

When the car is on, the alternator is charging the battery. The alternator pushes the battery readings up to about 14. If it's higher than 15, you have a problem. If you have a voltage gauge, you can see this is action. If the electrical is only on, it uses battery power, and the volttage is 12... then drains.
With an aftermarket pulley, the power being produced does drop. Because the alternator isnt being worked as hard, I personally only see about 13.5 volts. Sometimes, it does jump to 14+ depending on whats going on and how Im driving.
In conclusion, when car is on, the alternator is charging the battery, which brings the voltage to about 14. This is normal, and the car and accessories for it are made to run at this higher voltage.
