maxima sl vs modded wrx

so anyways, i just went through the hurricane katrina.. when it was a cat 1 and my car is fucked... so now im driving my moms car (and she has the titan) and its a maxima SL 4 spd. so im driving last night and i saw someone i knew, a slighty modded wrx with 2 other ppl in the car.. so i follow him and we get a red light. i yell at him while he was revvin and say nah lets go from a roll. so were goin 30 (in a 35 zone) i was in 1st gear i beeped and he didnt go.. and every time i gave it gas i would chirp the tires.. finally i put it back in "D" lol and he downshifts and punches it.. we were even until his boost builds then he put about a car on me and we let off at about 80 when he stoped pullin..

i think if we took it on the highway to speeds up to 120 i would take him.. so i talked to him and he says he has full 3 inch exhaust, intake, boost controller, and like 3 other things he named that i forgot. i told him i might be gettin an srt 4 soon and ill hit him up when i do.

wrx's are fast up til about 3rd gear stock, then they fall on their faces.

damn, since you know the guy maybe you could set up a race and get some vids? that would be a good highway race.....you'd prolly take it though...

Your mom has a Titan? How're the brakes on it?

yea, umm looks like there will be no racing and minimum driving due to the gas crisis down here, no gas station has and gas and if they did get some it is 4 bucks a gallon, but ppl buy it all and its a 2 hour wait just to get it. the panic was bad.. and i topped off my tank and only drove it to work and back.. this is shitty, and i was goin to get my srt4 soon, but looks like thats not goin to happen for a while.

they're still great cars. they just need a little help. no regular production car's perfect stock. that's why there's an aftermarket.


Qr, i hear ya on the gas thing man. one mobil actually ran out of gas here too, ther rest are all charging 3.49 a gal, some stewarts stations are at 3.90. thank god for motorcycles, $12 to fill and i can ride all week if i don't fly around everywhere.

my mom doesnt wanna co sign an srt4 for me. she says it will fall apart and if it doesnt it still wont hold its resale value. guess who told her that.. a local nissan dealership (she wants me to get a nissan again) and then my parents are tellin me i just want it for speed and its gonna get me in a lot of trouble. there isnt to much i can do bc of the gas crisis but then again its pissin me off, cuz she was pretty much like im not puttin my name on a neon.. like shes too good for it or something.. and this has been the car i wanted for over a year now.. well even if i do get the altima ill be happy. i wont be able to mod, but if it runs low 14s i guess ill be satisfied for a while.

My parents are the same way about Japanese cars. I was like, um...fine, you better be ready to cosign for a used M3 then. ANyways, if she wants you to go Nissan again...350Z or G35...I drove a G35 the other day, and Im taking back my statement of them being overated...

i would love to have one but the cost 30 gs and thats a lil over what i wanted to spend.. my budget is 23. honestly i wouldnt mind having a wrx but they are a lil over priced. i would be all over it tho if 2 of my friends didnt already have them. as far as the rsx goes.. i dunno if i explained this but b4 i got into cars my best friends friend had one and he wraped it around a telephone pole and they told me they would never set foot in one again. a spec v is nicely priced but not fast enough.

the best bang for the buck would be the srt or the altima. if i can get either one ill be doin fine.

theres just something about turbos tho.. i cant really get my mind off of an srt.

used 350z's are around 23....i've seen some below that too....

Aren't 350z's two seaters? Its not THAT practical...go with G35 :)
