I wouldn't buy an electrical part like an alternator or starter online. If I got the wrong alternator I would have to pay shipping or if it had warranty, It would cost to get it exchanged and the car would be down for over a week while the parts were being shipped. I think a GM alternator may bolt on and only need to replace the connection that plugs onto the regulator. Match the Altima alternator to a lifetime warranty at AutoZone w/ at least 130 amp.
96 Altima alternators are 80 amp.
98 Altima alternators are 100amp.
Several 05 Chevrolets are 145 amp.
They are all Delco and the 05 costs the least if it bolts on. The Altima pulley should fit.
