Charging dash light will not come on.

I have a 94 that left me atranded on the side of the road. The charging system has failed. I then found out the charging light will not come on. I changed the bulb with a known working bulb and still no light. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I changed the alternator which was shot and it still is not charging at all
any ideas?

I didn't check my connections as well as I should have. Lesson learned!
