What is touge?

I've seen so many videos os Keiichi Tsuchiya and Orido on touge tracks but i cant seem to grip "exactly" what what touge is. Please let me know about touge tracks and some examples of names of tracks that are touge. I will know most of them but if not i will just look them up on the net

i thought the touge was one place, not many.
a very narrow place in i beleive japan were 2 cars battle it out with tight curves till the end.

but dont quote me on that

Touge is just a term for two cars battling it out on tight mountain curves.. it's not a track, its a real mountain road they drive on.

And it's any mountain.. not a certain place.

That's the jist.. someone else will explain it better than me im sure.

touge means mountain pass in japanese
