hi i looking at getting a 95-97 maxima, i just needed some help with the different models and differnces in the years, i know 95 and 96 are essentially the same, but what was the difference in the 97's? i see lots of stuff about tailightd and grill.
my next question is about the different models, i know that the gle is the top of the line, and then the se, i think gxe is one too, but i would probably get a se or a gle, i just wanted to know the difference between the se and the gle? do all se's come with the 16 inch 5 or 6 spoke rims? also read somewhere about different instrument clusters? and other differences?
i want leather, and moonroof, heated seats and all that good stuff, just not sure about the models.
any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

the only difference is that the 97 and up 4th generation maximas had a slightly modified front end to get them a better rating in goverment crash tests, and I believe that is it...all SE's come with the 16" wheels and are top of the line as far as the 4th generation goes...main difference between SE and GLE is that GLE is automatic transmission only, and the SE you can have with a manual....personally I'd go with a '97 or '98 SE 5-speed, under 100k miles if you can...you could probably get a car like I just described for between 7 and 8 grand.

i would have to get an auto so my wife could drive it too, ive seen quite a few 96 or 97 maximas with 100k miles fully loaded for btwn 3500- 4500 in the rhode island massachusettes area

i will probably shoot for a 97 or 98, is there any differences between the two? any common problems with these cars that i should look for when shopping for them? any other tips?
