I'm a girl and I'm trying to install the engine processor in my 1998 Taurus. Is this difficult? Any tips would be appreciated! Dana

Doesn't matter if you are a girl. Glad to see you are willing to repair your own vehicle. It is a simple process. It is located under the hood just to the passenger side of center on the firewall. Remove negative battery cable, loosen the 10 millimeter bolt in the center of the wiring to the PCM. Then there are 2 bolts on a bracket on each side of the PCM. I think they are also 10 mm, if not they may be an 8 mm. Remove bracket, install on new PCM and install bracket bolts, install wiring, being careful to make sure the wiring is going in straight. A mis cue here can bend a pin and damage the new PCM. Connet battery and start car. It needs to be driven for a few trips, 10 miles or more, so it an learn the sensors and your driving habits. Now that you know how to install PCM, may I ask why it needs to be replaced? I work on a large fleet of Fords and have only replaced 3 PCM's in the last 8 years.
