Okay, this is when all the pride in the world goes to a G.M. veichle.

I have a 1991 buick regal custom (3.8 tuned port, yada yada yada)

170,004 miles and the original alternator JUST died. (but i knew this was coming) (but i did not know it was an orig...)

First, Lights started dimming during driving (heavy conditions like driving up a hill, headlights would dim, dashboard would dim).

Second, you had the alternator whine in the car stereo (not sending the right voltage or something im assuming)

Third, The alternator started to wobble (this was about a week ago), you could see it wasnt spinning in a straight line, it would lean to one side, then the other (kinda oval-ish)

Fourth, The car had a heck of a ticking sound (bearings/bushings died in the alternator). That was after 170,004 miles, *today at 6:30pm (friday)* and she was still running and charging, but im like okay, its time to buy a new alternator. lol

Im suprised it lasted that long, I live in New york, and we have a heck of a winter every year!)
ALL HAIL G.M. "Like a rock" (if anyone has gotten high milage or so off of stuff like that, put it in here!)
Bill  :naughty:

My original alternator went in my 1991 Regal Limited with a 3.8L eng. at 218,420 miles in August, 99. I just put my second Alternator in this car 2 days ago and the milage is at 388,100 miles. I also have the original engine and transmission in this car and I bought the car new.
