spedometer

how would i know if my spedometer is correct, like ill be going lets say 65 on the freeway, and id see a whole bunch of other cars passing me by like im going slower, so either their speeding or my spedometer is incorrect, would there be anything to adjust or does everyones seem like that??

i can't help you, but I'm wondering the same thing, because my speed-o says 80 before I'm pretty even w/ everyone else.

Mine says 70 and I'm passing everyone here, unless its lunch time, then I'd have to go 80

Get on the interstate and find the mile markers.
Go 1 mile at 60..should take you 60 seconds.

yea thats a good way of doin it, got me thinking since the number on the spedometer are closer together then maybe it might be a little inaccurate

in general, people drive like idiots. I once had a cop pull me over because I was doing the speed limit. He told me that I was a danger, and that someone was gonna punt me from the road if I didn't speed up. I asked him if I could have that in writing, so when I blow by the next officer at Mach-2, I would be aquitted and allowed to go, he politely smiled and said, NO!!!

I see nothing wrong with the speed limit as long as you stay off to the right. Too many people nowdays will just float in any lane they want. I have been caught behind 2 semis becuase one was going 55 and the other 57 so it took like 2 minutes to pass. I can't even count the numerous minivans I have been cut off by doing the same thing as the aforementioned semis.

Sometime I drive the limit, sometmies I drive 5-10 over. If people get off their phones on the interstate and pay attention more, we wouldn't have this issue...my two cents :)

If I were to wake up as a cop tomorrow,, (ie. lowering my IQ by 50 points :rofl: )The ONLY tickets I would right is the jerks that ride in the left lane! I think alot of traffic problems could be knocked out if people did that! On the audobon in Germany (sp :dunno: ) If you are riding in that left lane and getting passed from the right lane that is a HUGE offense over there!

Near my house there is a radar detector w/ a huge digital screen that tells your speed as you get near it...ive tested many cars from this and most of the time its accurate...also when i changed the tires to a different size i noticed my speedometer was off a little...like Q-BALL said the best way would be to have a friend, with a late model car, go with you on the interstate

I don't know if it's a huge offense over there on the autobahn but the driver behind you will sure let you know to get the hell out of the way. Might even run you off the road. I passed a lot of slower German cars in the right hand lanes who wouldn't get out of my way. I had a modded Chevy Z28 while stationed over there but that was over 20 years ago.

I read in the paper a few months ago that here in florida they were thinking of making a law that would give people a ticket that are riding slow in the fast lane and who would cause other people to have to go around them, you would even get a ticket for going the speed limit if your in the fast lane.
