Finished this up, progress thread here:
PROGRESS THREAD (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=448955)
Mostly OOB, I added some body structure to the inner door panel to widen the visible body-color area behind the side glass. I used MV lenses for the driving lamps because the kit pieces didn't allow the covers to fit :disappoin , I also cut and polished two pieces of aluminum tubing for the external exhaust pipes. Assembly was nearly stress-free, except for cracking the decklid in the middle above the rear glass and assembly tab; it's fixed but needs a bit of orange decal applied to completely hide it. A few more items need final clean up, I just wanted to snap these pics to see how it looked
I'll try to get some outdoor shots soon.
Part of me wants to weather it, part of me doesn't :screwy: .

Thanks! It wasn't hard to build (fairly simple curbside), started it Sunday and worked on it a little bit every evening since then (~15 hours build time), would have been done sooner if not for the paint/decal problems that added a few hours to the build :uhoh:
I also spent time over the weekend cleaning/reorganizing my work area in my basement. That inspired me to get more building done this week. I even got my HO scale slot car track operational again :sunglasse
I tend to build in a manic-depressive style...I build a lot (manic) for awhile, and then quit (depressive) for a period
So far it's been a manic summer!

It looks great. Very nicely done.
I'd love to see it weathered up.
The wheels need may need toned down a bit. :2cents:
The backup car at Amelia Concours this year had some metallic grey looking wheels. And black rubber gaskets around all of the plexiglass covers and side windows.

Man that is just not right. How can you build those things so damn quick, and still having it look so brilliant? Building something similar would take me at least a couple of months.
My personal issues asside, congrats on another stunning build! :) Can't wait to see what you're up to next.

Dang! That is a sexy GT40!
One of the hottest looking and sounding cars to ever rattle the LeMans scenery!
Congrats on a stunning build!! Brilliant paint scheme, one of the best the GT40 sported.

Very nice build. Congrats on that fast finish and let me go with RallyRaider saying, darn it, I need like months to finish one model and you are just hanging around for a week, and thatīs the result. Just great! Little Jealousy over here in Germany.
