I installed the safc2 and everything seems to be up to par. Now, the knock meter jumps around a lot. It reads a lot like this: 5, 10, 18, 9, 20, 9, 12, etc. Its very random. Is this normal? I was under the impression it would stay constant, but more and more i think about it, it may makes sense it jumps around because the engine is never really constant. Please let me know. thanks guys! Ray

You can't read knock on a 2g with the SAFC-II. What you are seeing is garbage. I would unhook the wire.

we have to use the STFT and LTFT and timing and use that to know when we getting knock. 1g just adjust till the knock sensor say no more knock and then run.

I dont understand though. When you look at the pin layout for the ecu, there is a pin for knock. Even in the safc2 install instructions and prostreetonline.com says to tap into this wire.

oh and 95eclipse gst, you wouldnt happen to a write up or tech article on stft and ltft and timing would you? Im a newbie tuner and have no idea what im doing. thanks man!

DSM knock sensors are not compatible with the AFC. I heard on this forum I believe that there is a bosch sensor that can be read properly by the AFC however. Otherwise, do it "the hard way" as mentioned, or with DSMlink.

Sometimes I think youre a spokeperson for dsmlink, Kevin. You are always trying to sell me dsmlink and everytime i get more and more tempted to go with that setup.

Where can i get this bosch sensor at? How does it work? Id really hate do it the hard way. If anyone have any info please let me know.

btw, my friend just got a 95 gsx and he gave me his ecu. Im assuming this an eprom ecu, right?

You would have to open it up to check. Later 95s were not eprom. www.tmo.com has instructions for how to tell if its an eprom or not.
