I just replaced the crankshaft pulley with an aftermarket crankshaft pulley which is smaller than the factory. I was able to realace the tension on the new A/C belt pulley to add the new A/C belt. The old alternator belt sliped off when the factory pulley broke. When I made an attempt to relase then tension on the alternator pulley to install the alternator belt, there was no differance in the tension. I was able to put the factory belt back on but it is way to loose. I need to be able to relase tension to place the new belt that is the correct size on as soon as possiable. I bought the car about 2 weeks ago and the factory crankshaft pully broke about a week ago, the part I needed arrived yesturday, and I need the vehicle to get to school and what not. Please walk me step by step on how you would recomend relasing tension in the belt! It should be the alternator belt, it goes to the alternator pulley and crankshaft pulley. If you are still unsure what belt it is, it is towards the front of the engine bay on the driver side, and goes through the crankshaft pulley wich is just behind the driver side wheele. Please help!! Email me right away if you know how to do this at [email protected]. Agian I need to realse the tension in the belt just described. Any help is apprechiated! Thanks a lot!
