Replacing Rotors on 96' Lumina

I I just got the car and was doing small work. I took care of the breaks easily then i decided to go to the rotors. The only problem is I cant find out how to get them off. This is where I stand.
-I have the caliper bolts out
-The calpier housing is hung by wire so that is out of the way
-The only thing left is the housing is in the way and i can't figure out how to move it. Books i have say the rotor should come right off but i dont see how. The rotor is loose put can't come out cause it hits the housing. An autozone employee told me there should be bolts but i see none left, the only possibility is where it looks like maybe a hex wrench could go in a hole and loosen a screw but that doesnt seem to work and im not sure that it is even a screw. Could someone help or suggest something. Thanks!

Are you reffering to the front rotors? If so, you have to remove the caliper bracket. You need a Torx T60 socket (get 1/2 drive, trust me), a breaker bar, and maybe a piece of pipe or jack handle that will fit over the breaker bar handle.

The bolts for the bracket are usually a PITA to get out, due to massive amounts of rust and they are threadlocked at the factory. I sprayed mine with PB blaster and then heated the bolt up with a torch to remove them.

Once you get them out, when you put them back, use permatex threalocker red, because even though they were a pain to get out initially, no matter how snug you get them back in, they can vibrate out while you're driving, causing your caliper to move off of the rotor (it happened to me).

That worked wonders, although it was still a pain to get off but finally it came off! Thanks for all the help!

I have strained to the point of hurting myself and still no luck of removing the bracket as of yet. I am using a 3/8 drive t-60 so i guess i need to upgrade to the 1/2 drive. Also would it hurt to use a impact wrench after soaking it in PB Blaster?

To answer your question, if you don't heat them, you may never break them loose. Tool companies shouldn't even sell 3/8 drive t-60's, as they are worthless. It will take much effort to break them free, good luck.
