Awesome news on the F40GT!
I m wondering if it will be the same car that fujimi made recently.
I also wonder if it will be an entirely new made modelkit, as it's quite different from the street version, that would be a really nice thing, considering the age of the kit.
As for the 307, I m happy tamiya decided to go ahead, cause the heller one is just plain bad, bad proportions, bad kit, etc...
As for fujimi, too bad they don't make the MC12 in plastic...
I m also very happy about the Murcie Roadster.
As for the F430, I ll go with alex on this one, no need for fujimi to bring out one, as revell will already do that, so I guess a third model from Tamiya is now for good Out of the question!
As for the dino, dunno yet which version that will be , but a nice kit in plastic is always welcome here!
Who said modeling was dead? It's never been more alive!

Actually F40 GT from 1992 is quite similar to "normal" F40. Read here:
http://www.qv500.com/ferrarif40p8.php
So if it is really the 1992 Italian GT champion, it is probably only a new decal version of their old F40.

yeah, I was browsing the web and stumbled on that.
I have the fujimi F40 "independente" , which also ran in that series in '92, just stock kit with other rims and slick tyres.
Well, we'll see about that then.
Thanks for info!

Nice news, about F40 I have Fujimi in Totip decals, most of the things are good enough to pass but there is no NACA duct on the hood and front intake on hood is wrong but it has some nice PE parts so combo Tamiya/Fujimi might do the trick.
But first thing first, 307 is on top of my list.

While Fujimi might get some flack for an F430, it's worth considering if Revell's F430 is simply an update of their crude curbside 360 Modena. In that case I'll take the Fujimi kit, thank you very much :iceslolan
If the Revell F430 is a full-detail, all-new Ferrari kit like the Enzo/Scaglietti...well, sorry Fujimi :evillol:
Either way, Tamiya is losing out BIG TIME! They really have dropped the ball. Another rally car? Yawn for me. It's time Tamiya does the McLaren SLR before falling off the sports car planet.
Life is good, isn't it?! Murcielago roadster (can't wait for those rims, and can the Gallardo be far behind??), Nissan Cube (looks so much better than a Scion xB, and it's a GT4 car :icon16: ). The Dino sounds interesting, if proper it won't be anything like a 246.

great news on a full detail AE86, hopefully it had both RHD and LHD Dashed in the kit, so us U.S. guys can build a Corolla.
great too see where getting two F430's, so we have a choice. hopefully one of them is full detail, and I'm hoping the Revell kit is.

Not to mention all of the AE86 kits have been variants on the old motorized Fujimi tooling.
I'll be happy with the Aoshima AE86 if the suspension is separate from the chassis pan.

I'm not sure if Tamiya can make an SLR. They lost the licenses to produce McLaren models (by this I mean 1/20 F1 cars) a while back, and considering the SLR is a joint project between McLaren and Mercedes, it could be that they just don't have the licenses to build this car.

I asked the very same question to one of the Tamiya reps a few years ago in person, and the guy told me that Tamiya shouldn't have any legal problems, because the SLR is a Mercedes car, not the McLaren.

You know, Tamiya's F40 has some flaws--the front cowl is too flat (and Fujimi one is too round, darn it!), so you'll need some work to make it look right. Also, the exterior of the F40 GT is very similar to the street version (meaning it's not the LM), so I don't know about others, but my only reason for buying the kit would be the wheels, assuming they'll be the OZ 5 spoke type.
Anyway, here are some updates on the new kit announcements.
< AOSHIMA >
AE86 being diecast kit..WTF!!!!
Actually, Aoshima is releasing both diecasts and plastic two months in a row. Man, it scared **** out of me, when I sad "diecast" in the November release section in their website. But they do list the AE86 with the 4AG and without for 2100 and 1890 yen in their Dec release list, so the AE86 kits are now confirmed. The shocks will employ springs, and the tail light parts will be color-coded. Both are Best Car GT product line No.72, so and one of them could be a limited release.
Also confirmed are brand new tools for the early and late FC3S (Best Car GT No.70 and 71), and both will be priced at 1890 yen. The headlights will be retractable, and the tail light parts will be color-coded.
Aoshima will also release some of the wheels included in their recent D1 kits as separate items.

Just to add to the news, Aoshima is also releasing the Toyota Mark II (JZX100) late version, both in regular, Vertex edition, and the Weld D1 Mark II. While the Mark II is very similar to the Chaser, for fans of sedans and 4-door drifters, it's a nice inclusion. On the VIP side, we get Junction Produce Zero Crown and D.A.D. Aristo.
The D1 wheels are the Gram Light 57 Pros, Work Emotion Kai, Blitz Technospeed Z2 and Z4. Sadly, we don't get the cooler D1 wheels. Maybe next year.
The AE86 and FC3S news is great. This means most likely that we can expect some D1 releases of these cars and various tuned versions as well. Engine makes it so much more cool.

But still.....why nobody build an Aston kit? Tamiya can reboost by producing one of the recent Aston you know? DB9, V8 VTG or even better DBR9. I also believe they still got good relationship with BMW...so Tamiya bring us the M5!
Or go with the very different twist...TVR TT350!

I suspect this may be a mistake. Perhaps they meant that Fujimi will reissue their F40GT kit since they seem to be going through the Ferrari reissues this year. I see this as much more likely than Tamiya doing one. However, Tamiya may prove me wrong which would be great :-)

Just looked through Hobby Search and found the pre order for the Peugeot 307. i can hardly wait...a totally brand new WRC kit. Not an old inaccurate kit with new decals (half you cannot use because of the old kit...*cough*Blue Focus) and/or a new sprue or parts thrown in. A totally new kit! Yay!! Now the wait for pics.

Hasegawa is typically very good about the accuracy of their kits. One needs to look no further than the quality of their Miura to see that.

This wasn't mentioned previously, and I know some members here would be interested that Aoshima is releasing there Chiki-chiki series kit stretch wall wheels and tires separately. It's more like a tune up set (like the Drift parts or Spo-com parts) as it comes with other bits as well. Some of those will be perfect for the new AE86 kits.

Yeah stretch walls! Didn't they discontinued them a few years ago?

Those older releases were similar wheels but different sizes and tires, with wider and deeper rear wheels and tires as many of these wheels came from various old school racing kits and silhouette racers.

So: what I see...
When I first saw announced the F430, my first thought was that it would be a rebox of the Revell AG kit, but is Hasegawa who reboxes the Revell kits, and now I’m thinking it’s entirely a Fujimi new tool, to bad it wont include engine (I guess) as a Tamiya version would, I hope that Revell’s version includes an engine following the 612 inertia, if this happens, well, kit bashing is the way to go.
I don’t have too much hopes on the F40GT as a new tool, I think it will be the old kit with some extra parts (roll cage, slicks), any will it will be a must have.
Sad the Dino and the Maserati are resins, pricing over the 39,000 Yen they’re so expensive.
The Murcio Roadster, Great!! Good way to go Fujimi!!, I hope the suspension-chassis assembly be corrected in this version.
The 307 is great news!!! Being Tamiya it is also a must have, even when Tamiya just disappointed with the 911 turbo, too much wait for a modified reissue of an old SNAP KIT!!! It includes the same awful metal axes for the front wheels of the old version!!
Fujimi is awesomely filling the market with great new stuff, I wonder where is Tamiya and why are they sleeping from the sport auto world?

Tamiya is counting on the blind loyalty of "Ohh, it's Tamiya so it's instantly god's own model kit" followers to keep them around as they continue to release overpriced, under-detailed, and inaccurate model kits onto our shelves.
If people start catching on that Hasegawa has them beat hands down for classic sports car curbside kits, or that Aoshima's tuner/import kits are about on par, Tamiya will be in a world of hurt on their automotive end.
On the other hand, Tamiya has such a command of the military and aircraft market that it's doubtful Tamiya will care too much.
