Axle Boot

Hello, all.

This is my first post here, and I'm a newbie, so be nice.

Now, I have a question.

I own a 1995 Honda Civic LX, and one of the axle boots is cracked.

My question is, can I simply replace the boot, or do I have to spring for a new axle altogether?

Your responses are wanted, so hurry up.

if the axle is not clicking, you can just replace the boot, but, id personally just replace the whole axle.

Well, that's all fine and good for you to say, but I'm not sure if I want to replace the whole thing, as it's a little cost-extensive.

Is it still safe to drive with that, as long as I replace the boot?

axle with a lifetime warranty. not a bad deal to me ;)

yeah it can be replaced but once it's cracked open any grease in the cv joint attracts dirt like a magnet and in time it will wear out the bearing and joint.
just keep an close ear to any unusual sounds down the road as you turn, hit bumps and so on.
