headlight prob 96 sierra where to look

I have a 96 sierra with drl and such. I have a problem that seems to be intermitent occasionaly when I dim my lights my lights go out. This morning my drl's would not come on and my lights only burned on bright in the past they would come on eventually but this morning nothing. Not sure wheter to check dimmer switch, headlight switch or something in the drl system. Any help on this matter would be great thanks

I am experiencing same problem. Just took apart steering column to find 2 wires from wiring harness have worn away and have broken. Trying to figure out how to get haness plug apart. If you attempt to take apart don't forget to disable airbag.
