Like a little more than a year ago I got my first tattoo on the back of my right leg. I designed it and I do not regret it at all. Last week I decided to add to it. So I went to Cool Cats tattoo in Fort. Lauderdale. Talked to an artists and we came up with an idea to have intestines, eye sockets and eyes around the cross looking like my skin melted with the cross floating inside. So I was like sounds good...Oh, and all colored, this comes into play later. So I got most of the outline and shading done. The artist decided to use a category 3 needle on the outline. Holy shit that thing hurts! The outline took a good hour. Then the shading I took like a champ, very easy. Now, not all the outline and shading is done, im waiting for it to heal so I can go back in to get the rest of the outline and shading and color done. Now, I am kinda freaking out due to the color. I was told that the color is going to hurt more than the outline because its more than 1 needle at one time. But, I was told by the artist that the color is like the shading, same technique. Short strokes. Does anyone know of this...or are there different technique each artists uses? I did know before hand the color was going to hurt, but then reassured by the artist it wasnt going to be difficult. Does anyone have any comments on this?

All tattoo artist use diffrent techniques. Mine shades in circles if its a big area and if its a small area he takes small strokes. If you have a camera i would like to see some pics i have all 4 of mine on other tattoo threads.

It's no big deal. Get one around your arm... all the way around your arm or in the middle of your back right on your spine. That hurts. My first tattoo was of the Eye of Horus on my spine. between my shoulder blades. It got slightly infected and hurt like hell and is now faded. I wanted to get it redone but they want more than the original cost to go back over it so fuck it...

I have tattoos on my arms as well. On my right arm I have a knight/crusader on one knee (designed by me) with a celtic tribal band going all the way around up to my shoulder with a huge celtic cross in the middle. The knight was done by Savic (now retired) and took about 4 hours and the celtic band and cross took about 5 hours. This one has been incomplete for years now. I want to fill it in with small background details like clouds with demon faces and shit. My other arm has an angel playing a big harp. She didn't exactly come out as great as expected because it took only an hour and a half and the artist seemed to be wired. I also have a Tahitian tribal band around my arm beneath the angel. All my tattoos are black...

Yea, I dont think I'll be getting anything completely around my arm or near any bone! LOL My cousin got a tropical fish going around his leg over his shin and a mermaid, and its all color! It looks sweet, but damn.

Now, this sucks! I might not be able to get my tattoo finished when I wanted due to a tropical storm!!!! But its not until next Teusday and my artist gets back on like Monday. I was really hoping to get it done before Ozzfest and before school starts! :(
