My 93 Caprice Classic 5.0 L runs great smooth etc.
However, at 45 mph plus if I accelerate SLIGHTLY the engine rumbles/ shutters breifly say for about 2-5 seconds or until I get to 50 mph and then stops. It does it again at 65 to 70 when I apply just a little push to the gas. If I give it a lot of gas it doesn't seem to do it. When I back off the gas and slow down 5-10 mph and then apply the gas just slightly it does it again. Once the rumble/shuttering stops the car runs smooth. I suppose it is more of an anoyance than a problem but it runs so smooth otherwise. I think perhaps the fuel filter needs replacing or the stop valve in the trans. is stuck.
Anyone with a suggestion please pass it on.

Sounds to me like your torque convertor lockup has failed or is failing. Try tapping brake pedal next time it does this and see if it stops for just a second or two...

I agree with the converter lockup diagnosis. Go under the car and unplug it at the transmission, it should be on the driver side towards the front. Go for a ride, if all is well, you found the problem.
