haha guess i kinda left a few details out...the p3's are in a smaller sealed box(not sure on the dimeinsons) and if i use the recommened ported box off RE with a 12.1 power it

if you install it correctly it should, if you want tobe sure get an MT18 and give it 3KW, your bound to beat that RF if you do the box right

Theres some people using mt's for daily use not a very good idea but it is possible. The p3's even in rockfords ported box with RF's 1000 watt amp which is actually closer to 500rms it would be close depending on the power you put to it. I beat the same style setup with a set of kappa perfect 12's and a profile ca600 150x2 rms and you couldnt hear his system, he had a cl1200 300x2. Like bumpin said theres to many variables.

Yeah the 12.1, you can find amps alone that can power its just that you have to know where to looke im sure someone one here could help with that. For the alternator problem you could get an optima redtop and do the big three. IF you would rather not go with something that needs 3500 watts and a box from hell then you could always get dual 15" re-sx and use a 2000 watt amp at 1ohm to push them.

15's suck huh i think that you are full of shit you might work for best buy but for one they sell power acoustik and rockford so before you go mouthing off about anything bigger than 15" sucking go talk to NG or bumpin and il let them school you. You might be talking about cheap brands like audiobahn and kicker but i would put that a 18" RE MT could cruch your so called high end 12, and rockford power isnt high end its just expensive neither is audiobahn. Oh yeah i got offered a job at the local bestbuy because i fucking schooled all of there car audio employees fucking guys thought they where hot shit trying to sell me a so called 600 watt rockford amp for 2-12's and i had to sit there and explain to the guy for an hour as to why it only put out 125 watts rms. LAst off 15 and 18 inch subs are sloppy if there something like an mtx that uses the same motor structure as a 12 and a 10 the problem is that these companies run there larger subs off of the same setup as a 12 or a 10 go look at an RE sub or any other internet brand there 18"mt can pull some loud ass db and the xxx is an sq sub but it puts out some nice spl, which in the case that you are going for spl im not even sure if you know what sq really is. That would be like saying a 6.5" speaker is better than a 12 because it doesnt have any distortion over an 18. Just talk to NG or bumpin and they can explain why your theory of smaller is better is just bs.

some people need to come lsiten to my 18 and tell me what sucks, also some people need to stop drooling over the MT...i dont think you all realize what sub the XXX is now, if yo uare gonna drool over an RE sub make it the new "redesigned" XXX... and dont rool over the MT as the MT is for SPL, some use it for listening to music, yes, but they are not ment for it...

oh and BTW, since ive gotten my 18 there are not people realizeing that 15's and 18's are not sloppy at all. there mms is all that greater than a 10 or 12... just because your local audio guy tless you this doesnt mean anything, it is because he makes more money off of 3 10's than he would off of 1 15... amp and speaker wise...so why not contradict yourself and say "you need cone area to get loud" and then say "15's and 18's are sloppy"....

Your a noob plain and simple An 18 has the cone area of approximaely 3 12's. Which also makes that 18 have much more displacement then a similiar 12. I'm not even gunna be a dick just go research before you post stupid ass posts again..... and ohh yea the loudest vehicle in the world uses 6 15's, number two uses 13 12's, 3 uses 2 18's, 4 uses 4 15's, 5 uses 4 18's, 6 uses 4 15's....... get the point? the list goes on and on. those drivers are much better, even with the same wattage they would kick the 18s ass.

now, if you take the 18" of any of those, put them both in the recomended size box, and give them equal wattage, the 18 will win.

18" subwoofer = 254.47in^2 cone area
12" subwoofer = 113.1in^2 cone area
and jsut for shit n gigles: 8" subwoofer = 50.265in^2 cone area
