No power to TCC

Last Thursday the transmission on my 2001 SE stuck in 2nd gear. I brought it to the local Pontiac dealer ship Friday morning, Friday afternoon they tell me they pUlled 3 codes off of it. One of the codes saying the Torque converter was stuck on the other two electrical related.
Finally Tuesday they tell me there is no power going to the solenoids that control the transmission and converter. So now they have to try and trace back the electrical problem. Wouldn't the codes tell them what is wrong? Should it take them this long to figure out?
Is this a common thing in Pontiacs? Has anyone else had this happen?
I'm getting paranoid that they don't know what they're doing.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

The TCC PWM solenoid in the 4T65E tranny get its power from the TCC fuse (10 amp) located in the engine compartment fuse box. The enabling signal which is a hi or low comes from the powertrain control module (PCM). The upshift solenoids and pressure control solenoid also get the same 12 v from the same fuse. They too are enabled or disabled by a combination of hi and lo signals from the PCM. All signals go through the single big connector you see on the top of the driver's side of the transmission.
Hope the info helps.
