how to make revell wheels more life like

ok most of you have did a revell kit before. how do i get the wheels to look more lifelike? they have solid plastic backings so that if you had brakes you couldnt even see them.please post links/ pictures....thanks

if you want to see through this type of wheels, you can sand / file the back of the rim until the holes clear. This is easy to do, the only problem is that you have to replace the center stud that you filed away. Not difficult either, with a few tube sizes from Evergreen. You can also deepen the rims by adding a "trim ring" to the outside edge of the rim. Just cut the ring from an unwanted wheel, sand the edge flat by rubbing the back side on 400 grit sandpaper, then glue it to the rim edge (after sanding it flat by rubbing the rim against 400 grit sandpaper, to help glueing).
