On my 95 sse, the steering wheel controls for the radio do not work, there is an empty socket on the back of the radio. Is there a connector the goes from the steering wheel to the radio??

The wires for the steering wheel controls are light and dark green in memory serves me right. They will be in a connector with only 2-3 total wires plugged in the back of the radio.

More than likely though, your steering wheel controls are to blame. There's little rubber plungers that soften to the point that they no longer are capable of pushing the switch on the circuit board. You should hear and feel a slight "click" when you press on the control buttons. Some have corrected this problem bt substituting small lengths of toothpicks or straws from like a can of WD-40. Mine are shot too but I didn't want to use anything rigid as I inadvertently hit my steering wheel controls while turning from time to time. I was thinking of .125 diameter springs but have not gone any further with the repair

Thanks, I'll tear it apart and see what happens.
