rattle when starting up

Hi everyone, my name is Aaron and I'm new to this forum. I just purchased a 2000 Boxster and have a few questions that I could not find answers to with a search on this forum and the internet.

1. Has anyone had a rattle noise when starting up the car. I'm pretty sure it only makes this noise when it's cold or has been off for awhile? It almost sounds like dry valves and it only lasts for a second or two. I'm waiting 5 seconds with the key on before starting as recommended. If I shut the car down and restart it, it doesn't make the noise.

2. When the top is down, is the indicator light for the top desingned to stay on? It goes off as soon as I put the top back up, but stays on when the top is down. I have been making sure that the top is all the way down.

By the way, the car has 44,000 miles and has been well maintained according to the records I got with the car.
