93 Trooper starting problem

My 93 Isuzu Trooper runs for about 2 seconds and then dies. The dashboard shows an O-2 logo that was not there before. I imagine the O-2 logo represents the oxygen sensor but shouldn't the car still continue to run even if the oxygen sensor is defective? Instead it will start once or twice and runs just a couple seconds and then will not start again until later. Any ideas????????????? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead:

have you checked your fuel pump to see if you have voltage going to the pump?
