Alright, so I have a 2000 civic si, with the factory front speakers. They are 6 1/2 inch mids in the doors and the tweeters mounted up in the corner. My question involves which component speaker sets will fit in to the stock locations with the least amount of modification. I know people have installed components in the factory locations, so does anyone know which ones are the easiest to install? I was thinking about the alpine type-s, i guess they are also called SPS-171A. When I checked on Crutchfield, it said thay they wouldn't fit. So, if anyone has any help for me, please let me know! thanks

well if you have 6 1/2 inch holes in the doors, then pretty much any speaker should fit. i would think that the most modding that you'll have to do is maybe space them out a little to avoid your window or maybe make nek holes for the mounting. for the tweeters, it might be a little harder, depending on what size you get and what size will fit, but it shouldn't be that hard, no more than a days worth of work. hope that helps. good luck.

I used the infinity kappas in mine. The 6 1/2 do need to be spaced out. The tweeter i got to fit in the factory location. I had to shave out two little nubs on the inside of the housing where the factory tweeters locked in place, then they fit perfect with out using the mounting kits that came with the kappas.

I bought the Alpine Type-S component system and to mount the tweeters I got the mirror covers from a civic that did not have tweeters and just used alpines mounting pods and it worked out great. The only thing that sucked was mounting the crossover.
