auto door locks

my moms 97 concorde's door automatically lock when she starts it.well last week it was hotter than hell, she popped her trunk to put groceries away and started the car to kick on the air, and withgout thinking she shut her door. well an hour later, and some swearing and a coat hanger they got it unlocked. her book says they can be changed to lock when car is put in gear. does anyone know ho to change this without taking it to dealer? my new grand prix i just pulled the program fuse and hit the locks a few times and it was set. does chrysler not do this?
