Not sure how to react. I mean, you basically HAVE to get the $399 version. The other one isn't even backwards compatiable.

Thats quite a bit for a gaming machine, even though it will be superior to everything, including ps3.

Sorry but I dont think that the Xbox 360 will be superior to the Ps3 when they will be releasing Halo 3 when the Ps3 comes out because they're just that afraid :lol:

Or it's smart business. If they were afraid why would they choose a game to be released that day...they'd release the system and the game that day if they were afraid.

I don't really have a problem with it costing $400 my brother and I will be spliting the cost anyways so it's not all that much.

Wouldnt be a smart move if they released both the system and game that day because the system already costs alot, so it would be bad.

They're afreid because they're releasing a game that is a giant compared to all other games, I mean unless you dont know.. 5 million copies sold when it came out http://www.gamershell.com/news/18894.html

I mean why else would they cut Halo 2 short by leaving that HUGE cliff hanger and ALREADY having Halo 3 ready in a couple of months after the release? Because they were waiting to finish it but decided to just let Halo 2's story be half finished and then end it with Halo 3 so people want to buy it and it WORKS because I want to buy the 360 and Halo 3 because I want to finish off the story. Microsoft knows that the Xbox systems never outsold the Ps2 and if they ever did Microsoft lost $100 for every system sold because of the harddrive and they had to bring the price down to compete with the Ps2 but never worked.. thats why they're afraid.

Microsoft lost to Sony because they hit the market later, and Sony already had the rep with the PS1. Now Microsoft has the rep with XBox, has the rep with Halo and Halo2, so they're releasing the XBox360 before the PS3 to grab new gamers that know Halo3 is coming out long enough away that they can save up money for it as well. It's awesome marketing strategies on Microsofts part. I'm surprised, with how much more experienced Sony is at the console gaming market, that they couldn't push out the PS3 by Christmas like Microsoft has managed with the XBox360 (November?).

I'm sorry, but that's crap.

For a start Microsoft trailed Sony to the market 1 and a half years after the release of PS2, whereas PS3 is likely to only be less than six months behind the XBox360. Add to that the poor range of XBx exclusive games (The average Halo series of games and incredibly stupid Project Gotham series) and you can see why the PS2 continued to dominate the market share even after the technically superior XBox was offered.

You said it yourself, Sony is a very trusted and well-established console maker, with PS3 announced and full specs available, don't be surprised if many gamers hold out until the release of the PS3 (Which I'm predicting the date will be set around the launch of the 360) to buy thier system of choice, most likely the PS3 due to full backwards compatability, technical superiority and upcoming releases of thier far broader range of exclusive games.

And no I'm not Sony-biased, I have both an XBox and a PS2.

That's pretty steep. I have huge money management issues. Whether it's $10 or $1000, I always look at what mod I couldve done to my car for what I spent on something else. $400 for a video game console? NOOO!! Get injectors and an AFC. NO, video game! NO, AFC!! Arghhhh....the battle continues, tearing my soul to pieces. :banghead: :silly:

Screw...hail the Revolution!!! I was studying the controllers the other day, yes, studying. Nintendo must have really spent some time testing how well those controllers operated 'cause they're running wit them. I think they could actually be pretty sweet and to have a HD for all the old games!! dang...

I'll do what i did with the last console race. Buy a Portal...wait awhile and get the Revolution and throughout that whole time bum off a friend his 360 he wasted money on all for Halo 3 and possible one other game that turns out to be good.
