I own a 2001 V6 and I'm thinking about putting dual exhuast on it. Anyone got any tips on how to make it sound nice? I want it to sound good enough that only dudes with knowledge of cars can tell its not a V8. Thanks for the help

magnaflow or borla mufflers with some headers and a good cam. borla is expencive as fuck but probaly the best sounding mufflers u can get but i would recomend magnaflow.

i ordered my exhaust online, and it was a good price and shipped fast. i guess wherever u find a best deal, either online, or at a shop.

is it alright to mix brands? like one brand for the headers and another for the mufflers? or is it best to stay with one brand?

some say its better flowing than ur stock h pipe, but i posted a thread some weeks ago about this test done with stock h pipe, and aftermarket h and x pipes, well the test showed that the gains were minimal, and it practically sounded the same. look it up on the lil search window, type x pipe, u should find it

Closest sounding to STOCK GT is with the MAC Quasidual exhaust system. I normally CAN"T stand MAC products, but they have inproved since the last time I dealt with them. Keep in mind it is not the loudest, but it will fool alot of people.
If your really serious about fooling people, pic up a cam from RPM-Mustangs http://rpm-mustangs.com/cart/home.php you want to go MILD with the cam, and get yourself a set of the 1.73 roller rockers.

cams do a lot. for the 99-04 v6 stangs they add almost 20 hp at the crank and a lot of sound to ur exhaust. but it takes a long ass time to install because u have to take apart the engine to get to the cam and it would be really expencive if u took it to a shop to intall.
