BRUSSELS, Belgium - Belgian women's soccer team SK Berlaar had to stomach a 50-1 defeat against rival KV Mechelen on Saturday because their goalkeeper had opted to attend a music concert instead, a local newspaper said.

"Our keeper went to Pukkel Pop. That's why," substitute goalkeeper Charlotte Jacobs told Het Laatste Nieuws daily on Monday.

KV Mechelen scored their first goal after only four seconds.

"At half-time the score was 27-0. But after half-time we were able to recover. We had to stomach only 23 goals and we scored once ourselves, right at the end. They allowed us to score. That was sweet of them," Jacobs added.

i cant stand soccer... its too boring.. they kick the ball all the way to one side of the field, then someone steal the ball and then they kick it back to where it came from.. and they just keep doing that for 2 hours... i dont see the attraction at all

So exactly how is that different from basketball? or Football, Lacrosse, Hockey, etc...

I'm not a huge soccer fan either, but then again, not a big sports fan in general.

basketball, the scores actually go over 100, football, they can get pretty high.. i dont watch lacrosse or hockey so i dont kno what they are like really...

the point is that basketball and football are more extatic... i want to see people score... in a soccer game, that usually happens less than 8 times... actually the scores are usually like 2 - 1... its just boring, because nothing happens... imo i would rather watch people playing hackey sac

Soccer is to England what Hockey is to America/ Canada. If a good brawl does'nt break out it really was'nt that good a game... Look at it this way, Basketballers are ejected for starting or engaging fights on the court... Hockey just sits you in a penalty box for 5 minutes. PLUS you get a really big stick! :evillol:

Musta never been to a Red Sox vs. Yankees at fenway. I've seen people being carried away on backboards. One game I was at a Mass. cop got decked in the face and then started getting beat down by a group of yankers fans after the cop attempted to eject them, then those guys got jumped by a group of red sox fans who beat the ever living shit out of them. Another game, there was prolly about 20-30 fights in the bleechers and it got to the point where they had cops in riot gear come up and clear out the bleachers. Or any Indians game. I seriously thought there was gonna be a riot at one game when the Red Sox and Indians got into 3 fights in 3 innings. Baseball is the best, you got cleats, balls, and bats. Anymore weapons and it would be a fucking gladiator match. Peace-

I've seen a few soccer games and from what I can tell, nobody gets 20+ shots on the goal. Sounds like a few other of the gals where mailing this one in.

The only reason I would watch soccer is to see someone get there ass kicked. You know there will be some elbows flying, some groins shots...lol. Then when the fans get all into it.. oh yeah mass trauma everywhere....

It's like polo, except they use the corpse of a goat, and you can use almost whatever melee weapons you want to knock opponents off their horse. You have to drag the goat to a circle on the opposite end of the field, games have been know to last days or even weeks at a time.

I suppose if your horse is still there..yeah. They say the horses are specially trained. As soon as you grab the corpse the horse knows to automatically run towards the circle... I would imagine they would stay by you.

When I was younger(like 8-10yo) I played soccer, and I remember one game our team was up by 12 points(12-0). Our coach made us let them score once. Looking back, I probably would have been like :flipa: but really don't care so much :redface: since soccer is :gay:

Welcome to every european soccer game... they have to have cops in riot gear seperating the fans of each team at every game. The red sox vs yankees shit is nothing

In my opinion Baseball is the most boring sport on earth.... dude walks up to the plate, nothing else is going on, nothing exciting. Stands there and you have to wait for him to hit the ball, you already know where he's gunna run if he hits the ball. And they usually dont score much more than soccer games, and the runs arent exciting at all, all the guy can do is run over the plate or slide into the plate. Soccer goals can happen a million different ways, could be a corner kick that a guy heads in right out of reach of the goalie, could be an accurate cross to a team mate who bicycle kicks it in, its worth the wait. Atleast in soccer its continious "action" something is always happening, somebody is always trying to get the ball and busting some moves to get around another player.

I think its a culture thing, cause everybody i know that came from outside of the US loves soccer. But americans usually dont like it cause you guys dont have any patience, you need everything right away, you dont want to wait for a beautiful goal, you need 50 mediocre scores a game.

IMO... If soccer sucked it wouldnt be the most popular sport in the world, the most watched sport in the world, the most played sport in the world and the sport with the most passionate fans
