My friend and I dropped his oil pan to replace the gasket and drained the t-case fluid in the process. What are we supposed to put back in? The haynes manual wasnt much help... it just said something about gear lube. Would I use the stuff for manual transmissions? What weight fluid should I use?

this is what i have used for a long time as well as many others,it can be found at autozone.its around $5.00 a quart but if you just want some gear oil use 75w-90 then.if you really love your tranny put in BG SyncroShift (Transmission) it will love you for it.

Use 75W-90 gear oil in the transfer case? Sorry if I was unclear, the tranny fluid is ok, we just need transfer case fluid.

75w-90 gear lube is fine for t-case.
On a side note about the oil pan gasket...I just did mine and used a fel-pro gasket with Red RTV. It leaks. Now i researched this on tuners and found out that from the factory they came with no gasket and just RTV as a sealant. The aftermarket replacement is Ultra Grey RTV.
Let me know how it turns out for you since i will be doing it again soon...

I replaced my rtv with a gasket and it leaked terribly so i ended up pulling it off again (mine awd too so a lot of work) and just putting on rtv. btw i used 80w-90 valvoline durablend synthetic, worked great.
