intermittant power to fuel pump

i have a 2000 blazer that just unexpectedly quit. it ran fine until i parked it, then when i tried to start it, the fuel pump wouldnt kick on. after sitting overnight, i tried it again and it started right up, until the next time it was parked. i have done all the usual troubleshooting...relays fuses etc
ive have decided upon one of two problems...bad fuel pump(i have the fuel gauge problem..sending unit bad) or the ignition switch. my question is ...the 97's were notorious about the ignition switch..are the 2000's the same? i dont have any of the problems the 97's has..dash lights tranny probs etc
it has been an ongoing thing for 3 days now, sometimes the fuel pump kicks on, sometimes it dont. any help would be appreciated.
blazerlt, do u have any experience with the 2000's?

It could very well be the ignition switch but what you may be seeing is a fuel pump about to give out.

well, the fuel pump i put on it seems to have fixed the problem. everything seems to be back to normal now. fuel gauge is working and absolutely no fuel probs what soever. ill post again tomorrow just to be sure that the pump was the prob
