'89 High idle when warmed up........

Once my truck ('89 3.9 4WD) gets warmed up, it idles pretty fast. It's OK when just started. I turned the adjuster nut that is on the accelerator cable as far down as it will go. Helped a little, but not near enough. I'm sure it is nothing to do with the pedal, because I can "kicK" the pedal and it still idles fast.
It also starts hard when it is hot.
Any suggestions as to what it might be?

No ideas I guess, huh? Was it that stupid of a question, or too complicated? Just looking for some guesses as to what it might be.
Thanks,
Dave

Could be you idle speed control motor located beside the carb.

Check your Idle Speed Control Motor and your Throttle Position Sensor
