Just looked at the website you are thinking of buying the engine from. I just recently did the 351 swap into my 67 mustang, and I rebuilt mine. I know alot about engines and had a friend help me so I did everything except for the boring polishing. For 7500 dollars you can get 450 horse, which is good. I am 389 on the Dyno and all I did with my 351 was cam, bored .20 over ported and polished, and then some good heads. Overall I spent 3800.00 and have everything blueprinted, I can also say I did it on my own with a little help. I could take another 3500 hundred and stick a supercharger on it and push more then 500 horse. So really all depends on what you want to do and how you want to spend your money. I could have bought a crate but I wanted to be able to blueprint and know everything inside and out of the engine. Just my thoughts.

So then yea go with a crate engine, but if you are going to go with a crate, you might think about going with fuel injection. I mean it isn't as cool, harder to understand, but everything is moving that way. Personally I am not sure if I would but it would be nice. Another idea might be to invest in a blown engine that still has a good block, and play around with it. Great way to learn. So yea go with a crate but for 7500 dollars you can get a hell of an engine.

With 7500 dollars you can buy your self a very nice engine. Sorry what I meant by the blown engine was to buy an old engine that is blown, not working. And rebuild that, just to learn, what is what and how things are put together. With 7500 dollars go with a fuel injection engine then super charge it. When you get that done Dyno it I am interested.
