89 MX-6 CV Boot Replacement

Is it difficult to replace the CV Boot myself or do you recommend just taking it in to get repaired?

Most of the time I would reccoment going ahead and replacing the whiole CV half axle. boots that I've dealt with are a pain. and usually the whole thing cost about $60 a side. and not too hard as long as you have a jack and tools.

in most cases we replace whole axles with remanufactured units, its only a little more to replace the whole axle than to do just the boot. but be wary of aftermarket axles... some are not exact fits and will damage
your trans...
it is something you can do yourself with the proper tools, mostly the older cars are easier than the newer ones, in that i mean the axle comes out of the hub much easier for some reason. if that isnt the case you may need to rent an axle removal tool. be sure to punch in the retaining slot on the axle nut after installation, you dont want that thing backing out on you
