Hi All

I just bought a keyless remote for my 1999 nissan altima with FCC #KOBUTA3T,Canada#1983101754 from eBay , when i followd the instructions below, the hazard lights flash once i finish step 2, but when i press a button on the remote to program it, no lights flash and the programming fails. any instructions/suggestions will be much appreciated !!!

thanks
kevin

update: ok i did a search and read a few more threads and i guess the remote is a lemon, because i tried with a new battery as well. and i am pretty sure this is the remote for the car ! back to the seller it goes. darn eBay

1. Close all doors and lock all doors

2. Insert and remove the key from the ignition key cylinder more than six times within 10 seconds.
(The hazard warning lamp will then flash.)
NOTE:
Key should be withdrawn from ignition key cylinder completely each time.

NOTE:
Do not rush the insertion/removal key cycling process. The side
marker/tail/license lamps and interior illumination will flash twice when this step is
accurately completed.

3. Insert key on ignition key cylinder and turn ignition key switch to "AAC" position
At this time, the new ID code is entered and original (previous) ID codes are erase.

4. Press any button on the new remote controller once. (The hazard warning lamp will then flash)

NOTE:
Do not press the button more than one time in the above step. If the button
is pressed more than one time, the programming procedure will not be successful.
The side marker/tail/license lamps and interior illumination will flash twice when this
step is accurately completed and programming is successful.

If there is only one remote controller skip step 5.

5. Additional ID code entry
Release the door lock, then lock again with door lock/unlock switch
(In power window main switch)

6. Remove key from ignition

7. Unlock driver side door, open driver side door and then close the door. (END)

UPDATE :

i bought another remote from ebay and it works fine when i followed the same instructions above..

this remote had a red panic button instead of the trunk release button..so i am guessing the 1999 altima works only with the red buttion version of the FOB even though the other one has the same FCC ID and serial number..

hope this helps someone !

good luck

The Altima works with ANY of the KOBUTA3T units. The remote that would have came with it when new has the trunk release button, the Pathfinder would get the white panic symbol, and the Quest would get the red panic symbol.

They all are interchangeable though. I would assume your first remote was just defective.

I bought an 1999 Altima recently. It has an extra remote that appears to be new, but the previous owner lost the programming instructions.

I've tried the instructions posted previously in this string on your site, but it only programs partially.

There are a series of dip switches in the controller. My guess is, those may need to be reset, but I need instructions.

The remote is a Remocon RMC-105. I can't seem to find the manufacturer's site online, or instructions.

Can you point me in the direction I need. Maybe Remocon is a faulty brand and not worth trying to reprogram. Anyone have insights on the dipswitches in the remote OR how to find the settings? Thanks in advance for you time.
