Just wondering if anyone has removed the side body trim from a TB? Are there holes behind it that need to be filled in, or is it just held in place by adhesive?

The body door moldings are just held on with adheasive. There are no hole anymore.

To remove them, heat the adhesive up with a hairdryer or leave the TB in the sun, and then use some sort or string, fishing wire, etc. to "saw" the adhesive off your TrailBlazer. Follow up with GooGone or similar.

i have an '05 TB - Snow White:

now ur sure that if i take some fishing line and run it under this ugly dull black trim cutting thru my nice white body paint will remove the trim with out much damage?? (with the disclaimer of course)

i was gonna see if i had to purchase a matching white one.. but if this is tru, screw paying for it.. although it does protect my doors when opening.. hmm, decisions decisions...

You should be fine, but make sure you heat the adhesive up before you start. Heard it is much better. I wont remove mine until I can find a set of white ones as well.

Fishing line will cut through the adhesive (possibly leaving some behind) and be safe on your paint...just be slow with it since you have such a large piece. In fact, if you take it to a body shop, I'd almost bet $100 they would use fishing line and a heat gun. Like someone said though, you'll have to finish it up with some adhesive remover (3M brand is excellent) and a good hand or machine polish to even the color out. I got the info from my buddy who used to work at a body shop and I've done it on a couple of pieces...works like a charm...just don't rush it.
