took fuel pump out of car..... ran direct power to it from the battery... and it spun and shot gas out at me... so i know the fuel pump is working...

and all the fuses are good...

i have no clue what is wrong?

Check for voltage at the pump connector with the ignition on if there is no voltage, which I would assume there isn't, check the pgm-fi relay. If the relay checks ok then there is probably a damaged wire somewhere.

It is on the passenger side. Remove the glove box and it will be a large black (I think) relay on the right side once the glove box is removed. It will say PGM-FI somewhere on it.

So let's see. No power to the fuel pump. So the circut for the pump go's from the battery to the relay and from the relay to the pump and then ground.

It's not the pump, and it's not the battery. 2 down 2 to go.
Wiring and the relay
Did you check to see if you had voltage to the pump?
Did you check to see if you had voltage to the relay?
Your relay should have two power sources one from the ignition switch or computer
and one from the battery. You need to check them both while the engine is cranking.
So let's add the ignition switch/computer it is #3

As for your no spark now. Your fuel pump relay might provide power to other things (I don't know, don't ask)It might not. Also, there should be a safety measure built in. If you do not have a rpm signal you will not get power to the fuel pump relay. This kills the fuel pump in case of an accident. After all you don't need fuel if the motor is not spinning.
As you can see it is dangerous to bypass the relay This is a bad thing.

So to finalize check
Signal from dist. for RPM
Power to relay. Ignition switch/Computer and Battery

Likely it is the relay. However if your computer is not getting an RPM signal it will not provide power to the relay and or the coil.

I hope this will get you somewhat "UN"crabby

dont know what you mean by check the distributor what do you want me to check on it?

i've tried swapping out ecu's and it still doesn't start so i dont think its a ecu problem....

the ignition works ............
