Personally I can't wait for this race. As with any new track, one wonders who will adapt to the conditions and the track the best, and who will have a shocker.
Top 3 after qualifying:
1st Kimi Raikkonen 1:26.797
2nd Giancarlo Fisichella 1:27.039
3rd Fernando Alonso 1:27.050
Michael Schumacher, Jacques Villeneuve, Narain Karthikeyan and Robert Doornbos did not post a lap, so start off the back. Takuma Sato had his lap DSQ'ed as he got in the way Webber, who was on his qualifying lap, as Sato was on his in-lap. His starting position won't be confirmed till closer to the race.

I'm looking forward to this one too, the track sounds really interesting. I guess Tilke had to get one right eventually. Why is one man designing every new F1 track?
I'm puzzled as to the pace of Ferrari, how can they test solidly for three weeks, while everyone else is on enforced holidays and still go backwards?

I m eagerly awaiting this race too!
Big problem tho is that Idon't have access to a telly, so I ll have to do it AF-wise, probably, with unbiased comments by phil and alix.
Oh joy...

Oli, if you are stuck watching on the net, check out the live timing on http://www.formula1.com. You have to register (free) to access it. Really interesting to follow the splits.

Well almost half distance and it has certainly been an interesting race so far. Still a long way to go. Well unless Alonso is three stoppping then it will be a McLaren bonanza. Reliability allowing.

Bad luck at the end there for Montoya, spoiling a McLaren 1-2, which would have been better for Kimi's slim title chances. I can see it is a big possibility that Raikkonen will win all of the remaining races, but Alonso just has to score consistent points to secure the title.
What do people think of the Webber-Schumacher coming together? I think it was a not too smart of Schumacher to close Webber out, not like Michael had anything to gain.

Quote from Micheal Schumacher courtesy of www.formula1.com:
"We have not been quick enough all weekend. In fact, back on Friday it was clear we were in a very difficult situation. Even before the start, I did not expect to get any points and that is how it turned out. As regards the incident with Webber, I saw him closing on me and he moved to the right. As I began to brake, I could no longer see him and, when I was in mid-corner, I felt a bang at the back as he hit me with his nose. He was one lap down, so I don’t understand why he tried this move. After the collision, there was something wrong with the car, so I went into the pits where the mechanics changed the power steering incredibly quickly. I went back out on track so as not to have to be first out in qualifying in Monza. At least this worked out, as I made up three places.”
At first, it looked like Webber was at fault, but when they played the replay, Webber was a fair way up alongside Schumacher, and Schumi pretty much squeezed him. He should have just given Webber some room to get past.
Thoroughly enjoyed the race, plenty of overtaking and drama. Finally Tilke has designed a decent track.
