breaks , going into the floor

whenever i push in my breaks they go right into the floor , soemtimes it works great other times not , wat is causing this and how do i fix it

:iagree: u prolly got a air pocket in ur *brake* lines.. just bleed ur *brakes* i think the order is front driver, rear passenger, front passenger, rear driver. or the otherway around :icon16: and after u bleed make sure u add fluid to the recommended level. breaks? shew whats going on with todays education system... lol juss messin with u but for real :sly:

Do the brakes fail after a long drive? You might also have a brake dragging.

If so the heat build-up will cause the brake fluid to boil and your foot will go to the floor when braking. Then when things cool off the brake fluid will return to it's liquid state and the brakes will be normal again.

sounds like your master cylinder. just happened to my 90 civic. replaced it with a junk yard piece, now everything works fine. cost $14.00 and about an hours work. good luck.

Do you have a brake fluid leak? Check the insiude of your rims and fender wells for splashed up fluid. You may have a leaking brake hose....

definetly sounds like a master cylinder. Primary seals eventually go bad and cause a leak which then makes the pedal mushy and slowy sink to the floor.

Was the issue with my friends 91 Accord. Pedal would hit the floor sometimes and work others. Replaced Master Cylinder and hasn't done it yet, been about 2 months.
