Hi. First time post for me. Anyways, I really like the look of wagons and would like to get one for "racing". Well, I can't really call it racing, it's just mainly a daily driver that I would like to be quicker than you average car.

Anyways, do you guys have any recommendations for wagons that have potential to be fast? Thank you and I look forward to your replies.

Thank you for the quick replies. Any other recommendations for wagons? What do you guys recommend I do to make them quicker? I would hopefully like to get it to run around low 14's and eventually around 13's if possible. The lower the better. :) Thanks for the replies.

As far as making them faster it depends on what wagon you go with but the basics like exhaust, intake, tires, suspension, and wieght reduction will help. If you pick a specific wagon it would really make it a lot easier.

My friend also recommended me the Suzuki Aerio SX because he said that it has a good AWD system. Anyways, what do you guys think of the Aerio?

I'd probably go with the Impreza. Also, what could I do to the Impreza to make it faster? Supercharger? Turbocharger?

Also, you guys brought up a bunch of wagons that would be good which is totally awesome but which ones would you guys recommend for me? Thank you.

WRX wagon already has turbo...just boost more.

WRX wagon is probably your best bet in a daily driver that is faster than most average cars.

Plus they'll net you decent gas milege both city and highway... given you keep your foot off the loud pedal.

lol, I'm surprised no one's said that magnum w/ the hemi in it. That thing'll rape you on gas mileage, but it does have optional AWD. I say WRX wagon myself tho.

I'd go with the wrx wagon as well. It's already boosted and has AWD. Which means great handling, off the line advantage, and you can make it faster for very little $$$. Start with an intake, manual boost controller, and exhaust. It'll cost you $400-$1,000 and you will already probably have dropped a second in your 1/4 mile.
My mom has the impreza wagon, and it's nice, tons of fun in the snow, etc....but I always wished it were boosted.

WRX wagon for easy modding or Magnum with a Hemi if you don't care about gas mileage.

Yeah. I guess I'll go with the Impreza since gas mileage is a factor as part of my job is delivering stuff for my boss and he doesn't pay for gas. :(

Anyways, thanks for the help guys. Quick question, what do you mean when you say the Imperza is/is not boosted?

Oh yeah, are you serious about the Volvo remarks or were you just joking around? I know those would be serious sleepers. :) Thank you for all of the help guys.

Subaru Impreza's come in both non-turbo and turbo models. The Impreza WRX is the turbo model.

dead on with the volvos if i found a healthy 850R sedan some how in the volvo grey i'd trade my car in a heartbeat.

vovlos fucking own sadly no real US following.

Vovlos are nearly as comfy as a Bimmer sportier then most sedans safer then a few armored fighting vechiles and look sweet.

screw that, go with the ford wagon with the 5.0(forgot what it's called) But it's got the same aftermarket as the mustang and it looks cool.

Out of curiousity what does it take to have a WRX running high 12's/low 13's???

CassiesMan

Its already turboed, so a three inch exhaust, intake, down pipe, and an MBC should do you some serious good. Dunno if its low 13s capable, but it'll drop your times a bit.

Also, I guess I should have mentioned this but I like the looks of the Suzuki Aerio SX, Toyota Matrix, Kia Spectra5, and Pontiac Vibe. Do these cars have any potential? Thank you.

well theres a crown vic wagon with a 5.0... theres also the country squire with the 5.0. those are the only ones i know of.

out of a wrx and magnum id go with a wrx. the magnum has that 345hp motor... but from what ive heard it only puts 255 to the wheels.

^Yea, I heard that too... that dodge over-rated the HEMI engine, but I heard somthing like 275... but then again I'm prolly wrong.

I made sound crazy but I might go with the Suzuki Aerio SX. I was searching the forums and they said that the only way I could run 13's is with a custom turbocharger. Mind you this would be quite expensive but think of the sleeper this car would make.

Anyways, how much money would it cost a Impreza wagon to get to run 13's?

Thanks.

Depends on how much work your willing to do, and your need for brand name parts. I don't know all that much about pricing for parts of the Subarus, mostly just ther cars, but if the trend holds the same, I don't think all that much more than a thousand bucks. You could either buy a full exhaust, or just go to a Minke or other muffler place, and ask them to fab one for you, and it shouldn't cost more than $500. Ebay Intake wont be more than $300. However, I dunno how much MBCs and BOVs are running for. You would need the MBC to up the boost.

Of course, I'm just applying the Supra formula (the so called BPU formula, or DP/E/BCC/MBC with boost uped to 17-18psi, and you have a reliable 400whp car) to the WRX, I'm not 100% sure how it would work out.

About 280awhp. UTEC, complete exhaust (up pipe, down pipe, etc), MBC/EBC, forced performance 16g (fp is my preference), and a big front mount intercooler. Good clutch, good driver, and if the transmission holds up..you should be running high 12s.

should take less now that the WRX is now a 2.5L starting in 06
